Are you waiting for others to lead with kindness… or avoiding the responsibility yourself?

Kindness isn’t rare because it’s hard—it’s rare because people are too caught up in themselves to bother. That’s the truth. Everyone talks about being a “good person,” but when it comes down to it, most are distracted, guarded, or waiting for someone else to go first. Meanwhile, people all around them are struggling silently, carrying things no one sees. And it wouldn’t take much—just a small, unexpected act—to remind someone they’re not alone. But most won’t do it. Not because they can’t… because they don’t think about it.

Let’s be honest—kindness requires effort. It requires awareness. And a lot of people would rather stay comfortable than be intentional. It’s easier to scroll, ignore, and stay in your own lane than it is to actually show up for someone else. But that’s exactly why it matters. Because when someone chooses to be kind on purpose, it hits differently. It breaks through the noise. It creates a moment people don’t forget. And here’s the part people underestimate: generosity doesn’t stop with one person—it spreads. One act turns into another, and suddenly something bigger is happening.

But here’s the part no one really talks about—being kind will expose you, too. It forces you to slow down. To pay attention. To care. And for some people, that’s uncomfortable. It’s easier to stay numb than to feel connected. Easier to mind your business than to risk being vulnerable. But staying disconnected comes at a cost. Because when someone avoids showing kindness, they’re not just withholding something from others—they’re cutting themselves off from something real.

So here it is, straight up: stop waiting. Stop assuming someone else will do it. Be the one who sends the message, gives the compliment, shows up when it’s inconvenient. Not for recognition. Not for validation. Just because it matters. Because the truth is, a small act of kindness can land harder than anything else someone experiences that day. And if more people actually lived that way instead of just talking about it, the world wouldn’t feel so cold. It really is that simple—and that ignored.

Be positive, and have a wonderful day!
