I Stopped Waiting—Here’s What Happened.
Do you wait for motivation—or create it through action?
Do you wait for motivation—or create it through action?
I used to sit around waiting for motivation like it was an Amazon package—“It’ll be here any minute.” Yeah… it never showed up. No notification. No delivery. Just me, overthinking and somehow getting tired from doing absolutely nothing. I kept telling myself I needed the right mood, the perfect plan, the ideal moment. Truth is? I was stalling. Hard. Then it finally clicked—momentum doesn’t come from thinking about doing stuff… it comes from actually doing stuff. Wild concept, I know.
Motivation is lazy. It doesn’t show up first. It shows up after you start. Which feels completely backward and honestly a little rude. But it’s true. The second I forced myself to take action—small, messy, half-confident action—things started to move. Energy kicked in. My brain stopped arguing with itself. Staying positive suddenly got easier, not because life changed overnight, but because I stopped waiting for a feeling and started creating one.
Let me be brutally honest with you (because I had to be with myself)—a lot of my “bad days” weren’t actually bad. I just didn’t do anything. I’d sit there, scroll, snack, scroll again, and then wonder why I felt like a potato with anxiety. Turns out, doing nothing all day doesn’t exactly scream “positive mindset.” Who knew? The fix wasn’t some life-changing breakthrough—it was doing one thing. Just one. And somehow, that one thing made the next thing easier… and the next… and suddenly I had momentum.
So now, when I feel stuck, I don’t sit there waiting for motivation like it owes me money. I move. I do something—anything. Send the email. Go for the walk. Start the task I’ve been avoiding like it’s a tax audit. Because I know momentum is built, not found. Staying positive isn’t about feeling amazing all the time—it’s about refusing to stay stuck. And if I can go from overthinking couch potato to actually moving forward? Trust me… so can you.
Be beautiful, be positive, and have a wonderful day!
